Terri Moore

Art has always been a passion and hobby for me.  I am an artist, nature and animal lover, and I love that I can combine these passions into art.

I self taught myself most of my art work in my early years, most of my early drawings were of animal portraits and landscapes in pen and ink or pencil, as gifts for family and friends.   I began taking Adult Ed lessons, starting with classes in drawing and painting in acrylics, and at the same time joined a local art club.   After taking several years of acrylic classes, I began taking lessons to learn to paint with pastels  with an pastel artist from the club who has been working with pastels for over 40 years.  I did many still lifes and landscapes , and some portrait work.  I next began taking lessons with another local  pastel artist, Christine DiMauro,  a member of the PSA, who has won several awards for her pastel work.  These classes have influenced much of my recent works, especially those of animals.  I continue  to take lessons and workshops to learn more about painting with pastels.  I have been featured in the January 2020 Issue of the Leland Magazine, and the October 2019 issue of Forest View Magazine.

I paint landscapes, animals and some still life paintings.  and also  paint commissioned pet portraits.  “I love painting animal portraits and capturing their spirit and colors that nature gave them that we don’t always see.”  I am a member of the Pastel Society of North Carolina, Art League of Leland, and the Coastal Pastel Society of North Carolina, and reside in Leland, North Carolina, near Wilmington, North Carolina.
